Appreciate any help on a model name number or date, thought I'd found another old electricians knife, but when i pulled open the secondary blade I had pause for thought.

I thought it might be a mod but it doesn't have any sign of the lock on an electrician either...I don't know.

It has Bone scales, what looks like CV steel, half stops on both blades and a "Camillius New york" tang stamp.

I've looked but the google is not strong with me :(

thanks in advance

thanks, looks like from your link it is a 1960-1976 or 1976 forward (it does have USA printed under "new york" but didn't get that in the picture), going to look through the models next.

if it's a mod I think the bottom bolster and the bone would have to have been done as well, pretty cool.

I am not sure if the bail was on all the TL-29's or not. I am including a picture of a Craftsman Electrician's Knife so you can compare the nail nic placement on yours. The Craftsman is made by Camillus so it counts. As you said the bottom bolster is there so that is also different. I am sure someone has a TL-29 site on the internet so I will look for it. It will be interesting if you find the knife in the catalogs.

Thanks for the picture, haven't found it in the catalogs just the good ole #27 electricians knife. The more I think about it the more it seems like a mod but it's pretty extensive, maybe I'm just not used to seeing people do it outside of BF but it's still hard to believe. I'll keep looking through the PDF's though, fun way to pass an afternoon anyway :)

The pin for the blades definitely looks like it has been replaced, and that makes it possible, and even likely, that the blades have been replaced. The body does not look like a TL-29 to me; I don't recall any TL-29s with a bottom bolster, the pins don't look like they are in the right locations for the TL-29, and together with the lack of a lock it makes me think that it came from another model. It's hard to tell in the pics, but the blades do look like they could have been from a TL-29, with the screwdriver blade modified. So I think this is some kind of parts knife.

The lack of a model number may mean that the knife or blade was made for the military or a special customer and that the knife was not in the regular Camillus line.

thanks for the info guys, that bottom bolster and lack of a model number have me wondering, have to put it aside for a while but I'll try and get some more pictures and searching done soon.

thanks again!
