Hey guys,
I was at the flea market today and came up with a couple interesting straights.
The larger one is a Joseph Rodgers & so from the late 1800s as far as I can tell if I'm wrong please let me know. Also I, not sure what the scales are.
And the other I don't know much about and am having a hard time figuring it out so if you have any info that would be great.

The scale is engraved with "Elliot's Special" the tang has a mother of pearl (might be fake MOP I have no idea) and says WM Elliot and Made in Germany

The joseph Rodgers made made prior to 1890 because it doesn't have "England" stamped on the tang, which they started to do in 1891. It was made after 1861 because it says "their majesties". There is not a way to tell within that 30 year span, but for somthing that old that is not too bad of a range! Those scales are some type of bone, you can tell but the specs and the pattern. Nice find, are you planning on using it?
I can't help on the other one:)

Thanks Ernie, I have no plans on using it since i have a different one I'm currently using. I'm stoked about the age of it tho.

That's a cool straight razor. Nice find. You going to display them or give them a makeover and use them? I'd personally display or save them. I think it's so cool that even modern models like some I've seen are still built so similar.

I'm not sure I'll probably just hold onto them for now if I find some nice scale material I might have the older one restored.

I would keep the scales for the Joseph Rodgers, but the other blade would look great with some horn scales!
