Flex Strop Question

I just ordered a Flex Strop (FLX01-BRK Signatute Field Strop), and have a question regarding the two different grits. One side is 3000 grit, and the other is 6000 grit. I sharpen all my knives on the Spyderco Sharpmaker, using the brown stones first, then the white stones. After the white stones, should I just go straight to the finer 6000 grit strop (green side), or should I use the 3000 grit first, then the 6000 grit?

I’ve just never used a strop before, I usually just finish with the white stones on the sharpmaker, but now I’m looking to take it a little further. Thanks for the help.

3000 and then 6000 would be my suggestion. It's a pretty big jump form the white spyderco rods to 6000.

What steel ?
For example I can take my M4 to a single hand held triangle rod of Spyderco Ultra Fine and take the edge from sort of still shaving sharp, after a week of use at work, to easily hair whittling and in some cases literally tree topping sharp. Just on the Ultra Fine rod.
Now
So
Why again would I want it sharper ? Why would I strop this ?
But
with some blade materials the edge will benefit from other sharpening media; diamonds for say S30V or softer water stones for say VG-10 or the steel in SAK blades.

To be clear I still would not use a soft strop let alone a Flex Strop . . . is that a flexible belt ?
That kind of thing is only really useful for shaving razors. A roundy edge is good for cutting hair but for cutting other more firm and thick material, lets say cardboard, then . . . nah dude, nah.

OK I looked it up.
Wood base with lanyard. Double sided 8-10 oz. Leather stropping surface. One side is black (3, 000 grit) and one side is green (6, 000 grit).
I would go with diamond grit on both sides; it will work with more types of steel.
I've never liked the black stuff, ineffectual (when I was messing with all this strop stuff) and I find the gold / yellow stropping stick more effective than the green (on basic plain high carbon steel).
