I am in love with the buck 110 (I know, I know) but want the benefit of a thumb stud. I know back in the day you could buy aftermarket ones that would wedge on(?) or attach some other way. Where can I find something like this?

Try here They also have a thumb stud for thicker blades. Just do a search for "thumb studs" on their site.

I've got one on an old Explorer lockback Boot knife - ss blade with micarta handle - that I picked up in Branson years after they disappeared from the market.

It works just fine, offers adjustability to fit your thumb placement, not the designers one-size-fits-most, and doesn't slip or loosen. They really help the studless lockbacks come up to modern standards of convenience.

If clips could be added so easily a lot of older knives would still be used . . .
