It's June 1st, which means it's time for the monthly Sebenza thread. Not really. I have a quick question about the Seb, but there is so much stuff on this knife in the archives that it would take me forever to find an answer.
If I own a knife, it is going to be "flicked" open none too gently several times a day. I know that this is supposedly bad for the stop pin and lock, but it is also (IMHO) by far the most convneient way to open a knife. Besides, I have been flicking my BM 555 for about 5 months now (I can't remember ever using the opening hole, actually), and it still works and locks up like new. I'm sure that the Sebenza is plenty strong to take some high-velocity openings.
My question is: Can the small Sebenza be flicked open? I have handled only one before and I was unwilling to flick it because it did not belong to me. I know that almost anything can be flicked if you work at it, but the combination of the very solid lock bar and non-adjustable pivot makes me wonder if it can be done easily.
