I needed a prehistoric knife example for an article I may eventually get around to writing. I watched Epray until one came up that had a blade profile I liked. Sniped for a very good price. :D Flint blade is 3.5" long, with '1991 D.J. Lincoln' marked on the antler button. I never handled recently knapped flint before, and darn near opened myself up, while taking it off the display stand to photograph it. :o This should go perfectly with the other knives I have selected for the article.

Interesting little pieces of history, aren't they? :)

and effective... if I had to, I'm sure I could skin with this knife. I may try knapping as a hobby. Not enough room for stock removal, and certainly not enough for forging, but maybe knapping :D . Who knows??? I'll call it 'Primal Blades' ;).

What did you use to tie the blade to the antler? Is Is real sinew? Very nice BTW>

Thank you. I bought it as is. It does look like the maker used real sinew, as the fibers are not uniform. If I was doing it, I'd probably use rawhide.
