Fire Making flint firesteel firestriker

I want to find several of these, preferably forged by a forum member. Will you please give me recommendations? Thanks.

I don't know which forum members make them, but I have had the best success with the following:

1. Get a carbide scraper blade from the hardware store and mount it into a wood handle; use a blade like this:

2. The older Spyderco Native with the square large jimping throws showers of sparks.

I have made a couple. The top one has been my primary firesteel for many years. Last year I made the bottom one when I couldn’t find my older one, which reappeared as soon as I made the replacement. The sharp carbide blade throws big sparks.

You could just get a Ted Cash one until you get the hang of it.
