Among my friends and co-workers I am "The Knife Guy". If someone needs to open a box, fix their watch or open a beer they ask me for my Knife. This is fine, I like to have several (5 right now) knives to choose from. I just thought it would be fun to pull out a flint or obsidian blade next time someone asks for my knife. So the questions are:
1. does anyone EDC a flint knife
2. Is this even practical?
3. where in the world would I get one?

Thanks

Flint is fabulously too fragile to use without the risk of chipping, much less carrying it around with you. Until you've become a good enough knapper to repair the inevitable damage, I wouldn't recommend it.

For the first few thousand years of human tool use everyone EDC'd a flint knife, so I'd have to say it is (or at least used to be) practical.

I'll bet if you checked a well-known auction site you could find dozens of them available.

So, we are the knife guys the knife guy goes to for information.

Special we should feel.

Cool idea - Just don't use it for prying - nothing like a bit of s#!t-stirring and it might encourage your co-workers to EDC

Thanks for all the comments..
I am looking for a knife on the web. I am going to buy one and see how it goes.
