I was doodling around one day and came up with this flippah design. It probably came to me because I've seen it somewhere else. Anyway, I was thinking of making more of these. This one will be my EDC. Very light and fast. Just looking for opinions on the design etc.
2 3/4 D2 blade - 6 3/4 overall. Solid Ti Frame. The lock is milled and dovetailed in. Screwin around with the anodizer and came up with these colors. Please excuse the blade, final grinds and finishing to come. There are a few more mods to make. I have to move the pivot a little further toward the front to lengthen the blade.

I use the name "flippah" because in Massachusetts, we have no "er" in our vocabulary.

Thanks..............Bill

I really, really like that. The simplicity reminds me a lot of Dick Atkinson's little titanium framelock folder that he sells for $100. I tried to get one from him, but he has a deal worked out with another knife company that is keeping him more than busy, so it didn't happen. I noticed your name, CigarMan. Insterested in doing a stripped down version, very simple, for some smokes out of my collection. I have some decent south of the border stuff made all the better by the fact that they've been at 70% humidity for the last 7+ years, as well as some choice friends from a big island south of Florida, if that sort of thing interests you. LMK!

This is a simple prototype that still needs to go through a little evolution before it's ready to go. I will probably make a few more trying a few different things out. I will probably make a few different models in different price ranges. As far as the offer for the cigars, I really appreciate the offer but I have more cigars now that I know what to do with. I also design web sites for the cigar industry and have a few clients in the UK and Wales. Needless to say, they keep me pretty well supplied with cigars.

Take care and thanks for the nice comments on the knife.

Bill

Hmm. I imagine the ones from the UK probably come from the same island south of Florida that mine do. Although, those Brits keep them at a decidedly dry 50-60% most of the time, so theirs could NEVER compare to mine! :D

If you come up with a stripped down version that would sell for $100 or so email me. Thanks!

That is a really cool knife. I would be very interested in getting one from you when you are done evolving it. The handle reminds me of my Greco Falcon (prehaps a little inspiration from him?). I like the fact that the blade of the knife is mostly contained in the handle. It looks like a real winner. Keep up the good job!!

Looks like a nice easy to carry EDC. Need a pic from a side angle to get a better look at the blade but it all looks great so far.
