Not sure if this has been asked previously, why doesn't CRK make a flipping folder?

They offer few choices for many things probably because it's easier to manufacture and service fewer parts. More options and more designs means more expensive machines for tooling. They aren't a huge company so that would make it more difficult to sustain operations.

I would assume he does not see a need. I must say the more flippers I have owned the more I just like the thumb studs I have not more flippers in the safe. Just my opinion

I was thinking about this as well.
The Sebenzas are so smooth that a flipper should not be a problem at all. I just thought it would be cool.
The Seb 25 with the finger grooves is also very cool, and makes a great addition to the lineup IMO.

I did a thread on this last year. I came to the conclusion it's not crk style. Hind site, it's a good thing. That's my 10 cents.

It is nice to see so many have commented. They could all be contributory factors as to why a flipper is not offered by Chris.
In the 20 odd years that Chris has been in this line, has anyone ever asked him before? I just thought someone may have gotten an opinion from Chris.

Now this is strictly my opinion, but judging by his passion for making his knives as simple as possible, Chris does not see a need for something that is a gadget. I for one would be disappointed if he did make a flipper.

He's not particularly fond of flipping and the abuse a knife receives from it. Personally I am not that into flippers-yes it can be fun, but have always found the flipper to be a bit obstructive

There is no flipper because all of CRK's research and development department is working on an out-the-front automatic. :D.

But seriously, I think CRK likes the position they hold in the market: The "no-nonsense, perfectly crafted knives, for a fair sum" sector they command. If they enter into the whole flipper thing, they become less specialized, and sort of drift away from the CRK "brand" so to speak. They would dilute into the Hinderer / Curtiss / Bodega / etc / etc / etc / etc / etc realm of a million titanium frame-lock, mid-tech flippers, that you "just gotta own to appreciate" Part of the CRK appeal is the lineage of their products. 25 years of making Sebenzas etc. All this said, if the company changes hands it will be flippers all around. Mnandi flipper in Blue G10 with a tanto blade, and a kydex neck-sheath anyone?

Yeah, well, speaking of that...I am waiting for the out-the-front powder-actuated auto.

The same reason he doesn't want people to flick open their knives - excessive wear on the lock and hardware. Plus, they sell the knife as a tool, having it flip open is not a top priority, cutting performance, fit and finish, etc are their top concerns.

No need to fix something that isn't broken. (:
