lifted the hood and looked inside? I know we are all curuous to see what makes it tick.
No, I don't have one, my favorite dealer doesn't have them yet.(will soon)
How about some nice photos with it's guts showing:D

"Yeah, go ahead and open it! It's nothin' but an old rattle-trap!"

As spoken by my dad to his friend (of the same age, about 5) to entice him to dismantle his toy dump truck. Both kids had received identical trucks for Christmas.

:D

i can tell you that from just playing with it, that the lock is nothing more than a pin and leaf spring. the blade has a notch that will "hook" onto that pin (would work like the speedsafe mechanism)when open and closed. when in mid open the blade pushes the pin away and when the blade travels far enough, it will then find that notch and lock in place.

btw, that is a GUESS. if i am anywhere CLOSE, i deserve a cookie.

....So the spring action pushing the pin also keeps the blade closed??

It appears that way to me. I haven't taken it down yet, but yeah it seems
like that is what's going on.When manually opening the blade the lock
release slides down a little and back up, then as the blade actually locks,
it slides down then back up.

view away guys. my guess was kinda on, kinda off. i was right about the pin, but not the spring. it really is a SIMPLE design there too. nice job G&G Hawk

Thanks for the pics OL. I thought I saw 2 pins in there......correct??
One for the closed position and one for the locked position??

Thank You, this helps a lot. Lots machining going on in there and tight fitting.
The actual operation is simple the good stuff always is.

It is a nice clip. Not to long, not to short and it keeps the knife
sitting fairly low in your pocket.

Yeah, the clip's fine, but it needs to be "tweaked" so that it's not too tight, just like the Grooves.

I just got my RAM today & I played musical clips with my Grooves. I tweaked the clips on both of my Grooves (Regular & tanto) & I just swapped the uncoated clip on my regular Groove onto the RAM & it is now just about perfect.

The RAM's not smaller than I thought it'd be, in fact, it's sized just right. Great knife.
