Flipper Jimping

Looked in the FAQ's didn't see anything... just wondering when the change to the flipper jimping came about. Older XM's had a finer less aggressive jimping (more finger friendly) as compared to the newer wider more aggressive type. Was it with the Gen 4's or was it prior or is it just luck of the draw?

It was prior to that. If I remember correctly it was changed during the Gen III run. Prior to the change it was a hand filed operation. Rob was quite happy with the change to milling.

Oh I could imagine the relief of the staff moving from a hand done operation to a machined operation.

That was a pain doing every blade with a checkering file! Somewhere near end of the GEN 3's is when Rick automated those.
