"Flipper" Prototype - Something new for me

I designed this for Patriot Knifewerks, a new company. They will be producing all parts in their own shop in the USA, which is important to me.
Creating the prototype with hand tools and drill press / bandsaw was a bit of a challenge. The blade pivots on bearings, I used a removable spring for the lock. Some examples of this knife, along with the prototype will be on display at the upcoming USN show.
Though I have made a very few liner locks before, this is something relatively new for me, I did enjoy working on it. The photos are by Kaleb Royer.

colour me inspired. Neat project, Wolfgang! It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled :)

does look different - this brings me back to the Pirella days. I hope they will make a handrubbed/machinerubbed satin blade and not settle for stonewashing/blasting/acidwashed blade. It is very nice - I like a slightly wider and droppointy blade but this has class in its form.

That's got amazing curves! Any idea what the price range will be for the production version?

I love the lines & curves on those. It looks like it would just melt in your hand. I wish I was going to GVIII!!

Awesome! I do hope they keep the fluting on the bolster, and add a pocket clip.

They are working very hard to duplicate every detail on this knife STeven. This includes the filework and hand finished blades and bolsters. The knife will be available with a pocket clip.
The first run will sport both, black and vintage white Westinghouse micarta in limited numbers. Here are some spec's:
Length closed: 4 3/4"
Length open: 8 1/2"
Blade: 3 3/4"

When I saw the black one, I was like "Wow." Then I saw the white one. Now I know I'll have to have one of each. Beautiful lines.

Once I opened this thread I became speechless. I was being emotionally pulled in opposite directions. Used to seeing a new piece from you with curves and embellishments one lusts for, art one dreams about, creations immediately noticed from across the room as "Wolfe", I now began to ponder this unexpected (to say the least) creation, still not quite able to condense my thoughts to an opinion.

I then recalled that my own tastes had taken a turn a couple years back, toward beautiful tacticals. Is this a new direction or a momentary departure from the singularly distinctive Wolfe "look" ? Then I realized it's just like any other of your creations, even though tactical and a production piece - I've never seen one from you I didn't love and covet for it's grace and beauty - and the same definitely applies here. Oh, it's impossible to decide between the black or the white, but there is something about those white scales.............

Super duper, Wolfe!

Always so fine.....

All of your works are magnificent 'endeavors' but what you've done with your trademark tools and files is incredible with this 'endeavor'. :)

Exceptional styling . If it flips as beautifully as it looks you have created a masterpiece.
I wish you all the best success with this one.
