Hope this is okay to post here. I'm looking more for design input than shop advice so I thought this might be the place.
This is a prototype for a flipper design I'm working on (code name 'Badger' so far). The blade is still heat treat colored and I haven't smoothed out most of the edges. Just the parts that are relevant to what I'm trying to dial in. A couple pics show some of the changes I'll probably make.
Blade is 2 3/4" long, .1875 thick CPM 154
Liners are .110 titanium. Lock side is thinned down to about .070 at the start of the lock
Handle is 1/16" black G10
It's ball bearings with the track cut into the blade. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days at a hammer in last fall watching Les Voorhies build a flipper and that's how he does it. I'll be sending this one in to try to get my IKBS licensing rights.
Things that will probably change:
I'd like the handle to follow the swedge it's entire length and then just slightly rise with the beginning of the swedge.
The first curve is waaay to big. I want it to be just enough to show my state of Wisconsin logo on one side of the blade and the IKBS logo on the other when the blades closed.
The middle screw on the clip side will go away. I thought it would be necessary but the screws for the clip are plenty.
All screws will be cerakoted 'sniper-gray' color.
I might go thinner on the liner and thicker on the handle material, but I do like the thick matching liners
If you have any suggestion I'd love hear them.
Thanks for looking,
Mike

This is the first time I used a backspacer instead of pins. I really like this OD/black pinstripe.
