Hello,

I am thinking about getting a new flipper
For now I have a ZT0393, a Koenig mini Goblin and an Arius, a Hinderer Eklipse 3.5 and an Half track, a Ruike p801 and à Drop Gent

I had mainly some ZT: 0350, 0562 and a 0470 that will leave the collection

I am looking for a blade in the 3-3.3” range with a good action

I have seen the Boker mini kwaiken, the zt0450 (or 0460) and the loser Gemini... not sure how they compare

what would you recommend?

the purpose will mainly been light EDC

the 0470 was almost spot on and very classy but the flipper tab may be just an haïr too short for me... :(

If you can find one, protech malibu all the way.

The Malibu is on my list (I may hold out for a titanium version). The WE Kitefin and Keen are both very nice flippers in the $150 range. If you don't need a lock, the MBK EWC offers a very unique take on flipping, since it flips to open and close.

I have to second the Laconico. The one I have has the smoothest action of any knife I own. On par with the ZT and honestly better than some I've handled. Hard to beat for the money. Pictures make the thread better.

Any idea if Protech has plan to make the Malibu with other blade shapes?

Mass drop website seems to show a bunch but it appears to require sign-up to purchase, which I did not try. $170 is not cheap for such a folder manufactured outside of the USA.

Curious where you find for purchase mass drop ?
That's a nice looking knife.

I got it here off the exchange. As a matter of fact I just sold it here on the exchange to. They come up relatively often.

I heard the wait time on the Drop site was quiet long. But I have no experience with them directly.

Just the wharncliffe and reverse tanto so far. Any blade they put on it has to have a relatively straight edge to fit into the handle. I think they said on Instagram that there are no current plans for other blade shapes, they want to step up production to meet the demand.

You mentioned your interest in a mini goblin. Don't think you'll find one under 200$. Probably around 350$ if you look hard. As I have previously mentioned before on blades the mini goblin was one of the knives that brought a wide smile on my face when I received it.The flipping action is incredible

Kershaw has a 20CV version of the Link around $95 that makes a great edc. I bought one a few weeks ago and find myself gravitating to it more often. Also made in the USA.

Coming in at 2.9 inches, you might have a look at the Ace Biblio. Mine took a little while to break in, but now I really like it. It is about as small as I can go and still handle it while flipping.
