Can the thumb stud on the 765 Monolock be unscrewed and flipped to the other side for left hand use?

I have one on the way. I’m hoping the stud is reversible.

I don't think so. I was drawn to this knife a year or so ago and remember being disappointed that it was pretty much right hand only. I've also since discovered that I'm not a fan of frame/liner locks -- to much blood drawn!

No the thumb stud cannot be flipped to the other side. There is a countersink on the right side for the screw to sit in, the flat head screw would sit on the blade flat on the other side and stick out.

I am tired of being discriminated against because of my superior hand usage. Not cool benchmade.

Maybe if you guys start making a Bugout in s90v w/ titanium scales we’ll be straight.

:p

Thanks for answering.

People said I couldn’t do it with my Megumi, but I did and it works fine. LocTite, and no issues whatsoever. Just my individual experience

I put ambi thumbstuds from Benchmade on my 761. Jimmy is correct in how the counter sink is facing, but with the ambi studs, I found that they both fit well.

Where would be a good place to acquire these studs?

I’m assuming Benchmade directly, but is there a specific department?

Thanks

Hmm. The Megumi must not have had the counter sunk side, although it is designed the same way. Good to know.

if you call benchmade at 1 (800) 800-7427 and ask the should be able to hook you up. the thumb studs on most of their knives are the same. i haven’t gotten anything from them for a while, from what i understand there may be a $5 charge if it’s it’s not original studs for a knife that you own. which will still be a lot cheaper than ordering something from somewhere else or getting them off of the bay. to tell the truth, i don’t think the $5 covers the cost of producing and shipping them. at best they’re probably breaking even on the deal
