Which specific Flitz product does everyone use on their khukuris? There are several different products and I'm not sure which would be best for a khukuri.

I couldn't find Flitz at my local hardware store but I picked something up called (I think) MAAS. It certainly shines up the blade and the brass plus it claims to leave a protective coating.

I must have about the same one Berk has. I like the way it works on all my knives!

The down side is that I followed directions the 1st. time I used it and scratched the finish on my Marbles Woodcraft.

After that I use a soft cloth and as Berk says, "easy on the pressure."

Another product that others recommend highly is Simichrome. I haven't used it personally, but bought an old Cattaragus 225Q that was cleaned up beautifully with it.
I imagine that the proper use for it would be the same.

Phone number for Flitz is 414-534-5898.

You can buy a small can for about $50 if you are a hard core user. Should last you about 5 years for a blade collection of around 1,000.

How do I know this? One of my old time customers has 1100 (more than 100 HI khukuris) blades in his collection and he just called me with the above info.

I use MetalGlo and one of those 'magic stone' metal erasers. They are basicly a rubber block treated with some polishing compound? Works good for heavier sports that need removed before final polishing.

1100 blades !?

Holy Moley that's a lot of blades...Somehow I feel an inferiority complex coming on

:-*

(goes home counting his blades...hmm 17...1083 to go...)
