Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc.

A couple of days ago a flood of new eBay listings for a variety of Buck knives appeared, using stock photos, including some from SMKW. More keep appearing.

Sellers, all with low feedback counts, include (and there may be more):

nilakshas_0422
somamana0
nipunika-18420
pahasitharanm-0
naveenedi402

The sellers (a set of fake accounts from a single person?) are from Sri Lanka and shipping is international. I have to assume these are shady and Buck may have a stolen shipment or new counterfeit issue?

Pretty sure the counterfeiters are just setting up shipping points from other countries as people catch on to where they actually originate.

The volume and variety of postings by this seller/group of sellers is unusual and seems noteworthy.

I love that shield Charlie - evaded me so far!

That Divot Bone I rate up there with the NYK Co. and Challenge Bone- they are so so similar but have their own quirks - just stunning.

I think I have worked Charlie out...yup!

Everyone thinks Charlie is this real nice guy with such a generous nature who supports all with his knowledge and mentorship! ..................................

But...... I think Charlie is THE best torture artist that has ever existed - I can hear him chuckling sadistically when posting yet another unobtainable stunning knife that leaves us all drooling and squirming wishing we had just one, knowing this Charlie laughs and claps his hands once hitting the post button, knowing he has just added to the slow, slow, very slow burn of extending those wishes that never come true to the audience who scream for more in addiction.

Yes...... I think this is so.

deleted. Wrong thread.

They are coming from India also. Suspect auctions originating in Brazil showed up this morning. Most of the auctions listing these knives are posted in the middle of the night. I have no idea what actually gets shipped. Most of the new Buck knives for 2025 have been counterfeited already and are available on Temu for $20-$30. My guess is that these sellers in India and Sri Lanka are getting their knives from the Chinese counterfeiters and then selling them on eBay for a profit.

If a thread like this helps educate even one person to pay closer attention and prevents them from ending up with a fake (and from Buck missing out on what should be their sale), I guess it's worth having the thread.

I gave up on ebay quite awhile ago.
Too much fraud, and eBay doesn't police it.
If you're going for vintage Bucks you don't really have to worry about counterfeits much unless you are entirely brand new to Buck and a used recent counterfeit was sold as vintage.

I don't have many other avenues to acquire vintage knives, so I stick to gambling on Ebay and have yet to be burned on any knife purchases aside from occasionally scoring a few knives dirt cheap that turned out to be junkers.

Innumerable times folks here (they've posted as such) and myself have reported fake/counterfeit knives to EBay and yet the listing remains The posting isn't even taken down.

Why would I want to do business with a vendor that tolerates fraud on their site?

Does Buck even still pursue these listings? Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc.
I know at one time they did.

Also;
You can avoid the listings the OP is referring to by only viewing listings from the USA.
😉

American knife makers are going to need to band together and do a full court legal press against eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Alibaba, etc.
