That particular story begins one month ago in the morning
That morning I woke up even before the first lights of the day, feeling nauseous and empty in some place in my body.
Like every morning, I took my first cup of coffee, some pieces of bread with butter, a beer I mean, a drink of orange juice of course
but saw no real improvement.
I was feeling SO sorry for myself, but I couldnt determine why.
Then, in the way to the car, I thought hey wait a minute, what about your knife?!
THAT was it! I simply forgot to dress my knife. Can you imagine such a weird day? A day without a knife
But yes, of course you can imagine
Feeling somewhat relieved, I went back to pick a knife. Actually it took me quite a moment to choose one out of the amount of little cutting things lying in my drawer, but that was not unexpected.
Back at work, it wasnt so nice a day: a lot of frustration, feeling a lack of something but of what?
3 or 4 times during the day, I found myself looking at my current EDC with growing displeasure.
At this moment of my story, you may have identified my sorrow, and so did I.
There was only one thing left to do, so I quickly went and had a look at the nearest knife shop.
I had a look at the knives, finding no really satisfying one perhaps that one here mmmh at least good quality for the price OK thats the one Im buying, Mr knifeclerk
Naturally, its not a story Im proud of. I was so eager to buy a new knife that I bought nearly the first one I saw!
Naturally, that particular knife got my interest no more than two or three days, and then was thrown in the deepest part of my knives drawer, as you may have expected.
Now, that leads to my question: following that scenario, I bought a few knives that I now hide in the black corners of my drawer, shamefully trying to forget them.
I call them my flop knives.
For example, I could name:
- CRKT Alaska Carcajou Hunter (with leather pouch)
- Wenger Ranger (Camo! I find camo scales so useless)
- a Muela Bowie
- CRKT Halligan Neck Peck (living a second life as letter opener at work)
- liner-lock Fox camo Moaky Grass ( another useless camo!)
Did that ever happen to you? Have you also some knives you bought and then neglected a couple of days later?
