Florida fixed bade carry?

Despite internet searches and asking a local police officer who rooms with us, I've been unable to find the answer to this question.

Can I carry a 4" or less fixed blade unconcealed in Florida?

Note: I have a concealed weapons permit and therefore since this permit covers weapons not just firearms, I can carry a fixed blade concealed. While not a big deal, I like to wear as little clothing as possible in the summer heat.

I carry a fixed blade as my EDC, mainly because it cleans up easier after food preparation and it might be a the better choice than a folder if when walking my daughters Boston Terrier we fall victim to an attack by a lose Rottweiler or Pit Bull. (Has happened to a neighbor recently...we have a dog catcher who doesn't catch dogs in this small town.)

You can carry by state law in Florida ANY size blade as long as it is not concealed. State law though is not good enough though you need to look into county and city ordinances as they vary from place to place.

I live in the semi-sticks and no one cares if you have a hunting knife strapped to your belt. I go to school however in Jax and the law there would take that in a very different manner.

Thanks, that's basically what I had assumed. In the summer, when I'm walking the dog in the neighborhood, I probably will wear it unconcealed. When I'm out driving, I have my wallet and my concealed permit with me. I'll just thrown on a light vest to cover the knife.
