Since you do not have a CWP, you must open-carry a knife of that kind.

Under Title XLVI, Chapter 790, the section 790.001 defines a "weapon" as "any dirk, knife, metallic knuckles, slungshot, billie, tear gas gun, chemical weapon or device, or other deadly weapon except a firearm or a common pocketknife, plastic knife, or blunt-bladed table knife."

Section 790.01 makes it illegal to carry any "weapon" concealed. Concealed means "carried on or about a person in such a manner as to conceal the weapon from the ordinary sight of another person."

There is no part of this state law that prohibits open carry. However, some counties and large urban cities may have laws against open carry of such large knives, so you will have to check local ordinances. Even if not prohibited, carry of such a large combat knife may get adverse reactions from store employees you visit and the police can be called if they feel threatened in any way, this leading to a disorderly conduct ticket.

On a person note, a 7 inch fixed blade knife carried openly by a person with minimal or no training in knife fighting is a really terrible self-defense weapon.

You need a cwp for any knife that has a blade over 4 inches
