Florida Knife laws

I´m planning to visit Miami in April and I´m wondering if it´s legal to carry my Recon 1 in my poket.... Any clue?

That's a very touchy state. On the Florida statute 790. It cleverly states that it must be an ordinary pocket knife. But I always carry knives in Florida. It was a different time back then so I don't know how hard they enforce the law. I figure if you can buy it in a store in the state of Florida you all to be able to use it. But whenever I do visit Florida I carry a small Kershaw. There's just too much vagueness in that law.. I'm not an attorney I can't give you legal advice however the way the police look at it is what was your intent of carrying the knife. And of course it all depends on how you act. Open carry knives are allowed in the state of Florida. Now if you clipped your recon on the outside of your belt where it was in plain view site. That would be legal. But again I'm not an attorney.

Thanks.. I think that is better to leave the recon 1 at home... A small sak will be better. I don't want to be deported..

Joey is right. I live in Florida and always have a knife in my pocket. Never been bothered by police, but then again I don't draw attention to myself. Also, Miami might more strict with enforcement. I live on the Gulf Coast and never visited Miami.

Don't worry you won't be deported.
But a few nights in Miami Central Jail that will correct you.LoL
 
I live in Foley, Alabama and my wife and I go to Pensacola quite a bit, since it is only about 30 or so minutes away. I carry a 4" folder concealed in my pocket each time we go there. Never had a problem.
