Flotanium aka Lightning strike anodize

I've been seeing this type of anodizing lately & can't seem to find much about the process. As far as I know, it's heating the titanium & then quenching it in acid. Anyone else know more about this process?

Wow. It would be nice to get the details of this process. Is this a Olamic proprietary thing?

From what I've read, it's from heating the ti and then quenching in Ferric Chloride, I think.
