Scuttlebutt has it they are currently negotiating for a fight. I'd watch it, how about you? Oh, and I'd bet on Floyd.

It was just a false rumor.

Dana White cleared up that in the press

UFC has Conor under contract and no way Maywether is giving up less than 90% of his purse to share with UFC.

But it is a excellent idea for a big money fight. Even if Conor loses (which he will) he might be able to go the distance with Maywether since he is not known to knock people out. And then Conor can go back to the UFC fighting MMA without losing any momentum.. Sounds like a win win all around to me.

There is one nagging question though. Even though Maywheter is a hundred steps above Conor in boxing. Maywether is getting old (he is 39) so eventually the legs or chin goes. Would be exciting to see the fight for sure.

In an MMA fight, McGregor would win. In a boxing match, Mayweather would win.

No way Mayweather would agree to an MMA fight. Not his sport and not enough money.

I think McGregor would agree to a boxing match. Nobody would expect him to win so who cares if he loses, and the money he could make from boxing Mayweather would be more than he could make from an MMA fight. Mayweather would probably agree to a boxing match because McGregor wouldn't be a real threat to him if the money was right. UFC probably never would let it happen. I know that some UFC fighters compete in grappling tournaments while under contract but I've never heard of one boxing while under contract (could be wrong about that).

Do you remember the Randy Coture and James Tony Toney fight?.

Yeah, that was something funny. I remember saying to everyone that if Randy didn't get his head knocked off, he could easily take Toney down and submit or G&P him. Sure enough, a lazy half-assed ankle pick from halfway across the cage, and he gets an arm triangle.

And then there was Royce Gracie and Art Jimmerson (the guy with one boxing glove) back at UFC one. Royce got an easy double-leg (which could have been stuff if Art knew how) and mount, and Art tapped out simply because he had no idea what to do.

Pretty much any MMArtist could take out a professional boxer unless the boxer has also crosstrained in other styles. Heck, a solid leg kick or three and they'd probably tap out. And imagine Mayweather (or any boxer) clinching with a MMArtist. They'd get dropped on their head in the blink of an eye.

I have respect for boxers and boxing as a sport, but MMA is something completely different. I'm not saying one is better or takes more skill than the other, but they're just too different to directly compare.

I think Floyd would pick him apart. Other than that, not worth my money. They've lined their pockets enough as it is.:barf:
