Aight, got the refresh rate question answered in my last thread. The TV upgrades to 120hz from the cable providers 60hz. Thanks to all who offered up on that one.

Now, wanted to get Net***x streaming video vs lonthly premium movie channels.

Picked up a nice BluRay.

Hooked up (ethernet cable from wireless modem (Linksys WRT54GSv4 I think) "out" port to bluray), ran connection tests, all passed. All IP addy's show, etc.

Tried to connect to Net***x, "no connection".

Reran connection tests, all passed.

Tried to download firmware, no connection.

Switched ethernet to directly to cable modem to take wireless modem out of equation, same results. Connection tests all pass, but fails to connect on firmware or streaming attempts.

Called mfgr, ran "port" tests via yougetsignal, found 3 ports they use were all blocked, so told to call cable/ISP.

Called cable/ISP. Told to call wireless router mfgr.

Called them, told I needed to "open" port(s), but since router is 5 yrs old, out of warranty, would have buy 2 week window for $30, 90 day window for $40, or new router for $50, before they could help.

Googled port opening, read several explanations, so logged into router, followed instructions, retried, same results. Took out changes and logged out.

Is this something I need to reboot router after changes to complete or get to recognize?

Is there a conenction/startup sequence I'm missing to get to recognize?

Don't understand if ports are blocked when hard-wired directly why is it the wireless router?

Did I score the triple-decker homer getting 3 maroons who have no clue, and maybe I should call back tomorrow

Thanks germs

Amazing. After almost 7 hours on the phone with Panasonic, Time Warner, and Linksys, I finally got ahold of a Time Warner tech who had same problem.

"You have to sign up for Netflix before it will connect".

Signed up online, rebooted, Bluray immediately connected.

Problem solved.

Life is good.
