Hi guys, quick question. I have a Ti fluted Military that I just got. It’s a great knife and looks incredible. My question is, is this going to be somewhat of a collectible piece? Or, should I go ahead and just use it as I would a normal Military? Same question goes for my Knifeworks S90V version.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Collectible for what, resale? Possibly. But Spydercos were meant for use IMO. Especially militaries. I’m biased cause I don’t collect.

Heck the S90v knifeworks is still for available. Thanks, now I want one. Lol.

IMO, what constitutes a "collectable" Spyderco knife is extraordinarily limited. For example, the very first knife (not first model, but THE first knife) that Sal/Spyderco made would qualify. A knife that Sal has personally carried for a long time that he personally gave to you--that would qualify. A fluted Ti Millie? No way. Well, unless it was carried into space by an astronaut or some such craziness. ;) Same for the KW knife.

I personally get more joy out of using my tools instead of watching them sit around. I do have backups for my favorites, just incase of loss or irrepariable damage

S sharkattacksw only you can determine if it is collectable. Depends on your definition. I have a bunch of militaries in various forms. So yeah in that way, they’re collectable. As far as an increasing resale value, I doubt they are.

I doubt that the sales numbers were that high. It will likely go up in value over time.

That said, mine is a user and I love it. One of my all time favorite knives. It would be a shame to leave it in a box.

OP - is it a factory anodized one? If so, absolutely it is and should be a collectible. I would definitely not mar it if it were mine. If it is the non-anodized version that was discounted by dealers to $200, no - I don't think many would treat it as a collectible.

It's just the standard non-annodized version. I got it from DLT. Great folks to deal with, by the way.
