I cannot make up my mind whether to pull the trigger or not on the fluted ti millie. Have been always curious how it differs from the plain ti model (which I have). Even if it is on sale, $220 is not small money for me so I have to be careful with my spending. My gut feeling is that there will likely be some sprint runs of it in the future with better steel, another factor that makes me hesitate now.

What's your thought? Anyone have both the plain ti and the fluted ti?

I have two fluted Ti and sold my plain Ti. I found the plain very heavy. Though the lock bar functioned the same the plain must have been thicker. It was much harder to press.

I have had both and sold both, but that is because I am finding the Millie to be at the upper end of preferred size for me and I opt for the PM2. But, having had both, I will say that I liked the fluted titanium better than the plain, mostly due to the weight difference. If you go for the fluted, I don't know that we will see something other than S30V, at least that is what my crystal ball is saying. ;)

I picked up a fluted Millie a few weeks ago from HQ and was happy to see it was the most recent offering with CQI. The fit and finish was better than I expected and the contoured Ti fits slide in and out of pocket well. I picked it up as a frame lock option for future Millie sprints (Maxamet Frankenmillie :D) and am happy I did, it carries well and isn’t as heavy as I thought it would be.

There are a lot of great knives going away right now (Domino, Ti Millie and Slysz Bowie) I would pick them up at the clearance price now that way you can avoid the “collectors” price later

Ide buy it if you are thinking about it. Once they are gone they are gone and then the prices will only go up on the secondary market

Thanks all. Sounds all are positive about the fluted ti military. Here is th hope that dealers will knock $20 more off for the upcoming holiday:p

I am seeing some dealers raising the price of the fluted ti millie:oops: Well, I'll set a hard upper limit on this one: $220, and see if I can get the funds for it. If by then, no dealer sells it at $220 or below, then be it, and I'll skip it for maybe a Manix 2 M4. This would probably be the only time that I spend more than $200 on a knife of s30v steel.

I couldn't decide between this and the regular ti. Started a thread, everyone said flutted was the way to go.
But I bought a police 4 thenstead.
Haha couldn't pass up that fat piece o' k390 at 0.0012 behind the edge.

I'm sure that the flutted is a nicer knife overall though

How do you like the Police 4? A big FFG Spyderco in K390 ticks off a lot of boxes for me:D
