Flux for forge welding

I'm trying to find a good flux to use for welding my plates together for a layered damascus blade. Can anyone give me some suggestions for something that works good but is not expensive?

This is what I use but if you want to go real cheap go buy some 20 mule team borax at your local grocery.

U can take 20 mule team borax and place it in the oven to dry out the moisture in it and it works as well (almost) as anhydrous borax...
