A friend of mine is going Fly Fishing in New Brunswick in May and he asked me to tye up some of my custom Wooly Bugger flies for his trip.
If you are familiar with the wooly bugger pattern you have to try this one out, it works real well and comes alive in the water. I use a blend of natural colored dubbing for the body, not chenille like the book says, the dubbing looks more life like to the fish. The key is to use a small amount of sparkle dubbing. Also use Dark olive, light olive and black marabou for the tail. Once you are done just use a small pick or the tips of your scizzors to pick out some of the dubbing so it waggers and looks like legs in the water
Here are the first 6 I tied.
