Ok gun experts. I am looking for a lightweight rifle that will almost exclusively be used at the range in the 100m or less distances. Frankly the goal is something fun to shoot and cool looking. Yes, I know that sounds dumb but I have the more "necessary" equipment already. Anyone know enough facts to actually encourage or discourage this purchase?

Never one to discourage gun purchases, I would prefer to own the new SIG 552 as mags are more available, If I am placing your purchase as the new top feed FN popularized by Stargate, SG1.

Ammo for the PS90 is expensive and packs the ballistic equivalent as a .22 mag.

The only andvantage to the 5.7 is the AP ammo which you cant get anywhere, remove that and you are left with a 50 shot .22

The most overhyped caliber ever IMHO.

I've read about that round and the firearms for it and I think they would be a reasonable for use in an apartment as a defense choice.

The round has light recoil for multiround hits on target, even by the relatively unskilled. But most important to me, the round has a lower probability of wall penetration (and beyond).

As for a range gun, I agree that it has "giggle" factor.

I say go for it. I've read several testimonials from people that say it is a fun range gun.
