From what i have seen the RAT knives are made by Ontario knife company. Is this true? And if so are the RAK and TAk series knives made by Ontario on par with the RAT knives? From what i have seen they are made with the same materials, but a little less expensive. Just wondering.

To put it simple
1. Yes, they are also made by Ontario Knife(I won't go deeper into business side of this issue)
2. No, they are no par to RC(Rat cutlery) knives.

From what I've found out Ontario was producing RAT knives and then they split. Now Rowen is producing RAT knives. Yea....The knives produced by Rowen are of better quality.

The rowen made knives are better IMO. RAT cutlery can better respond to customer input and have a much better warranty. Also RAT cutlery designs new knives while Ontario makes the older designs.

Long and short of it get an RC.

You won't be disappointed.

I have an older RAT3 from Ontario and an Izula and an RC-5 from RAT/Rowen. I much prefer the the RAT knives, and you cannot beat their warranty

Just to clear up any confusion, almost impossible to do when you are talking about these two companies, Rowen Manufacturing IS NOT producing any Rat knives, Ontario is. Rowen is producing RC knives for Rat Cutlery.

I see. Thanks for the input. Where do i purchase a RC knife? I've been looking for a quality all purpose fixed blade for some time, and am all but sold.
