FNG??? What is the differece between Busse and Swamp Rat

Its all in the steel- if rust isn`t a issue, go for the Rat :thumbup:

Rats are made from SR-101, Busses from INFI- but all knives need care, don`t they :)
 
Both are great knives. Swamp Rat knives are typically offered at a lower price for an equivalent size. The primary difference is in the steel. Both steels are tougher than I am and I have an equal number of Infi and SR101 knives. I don't have any issues with either although satin SR101 take a bit more attention. Infi, although not technically stainess, is very stain and rust resistant. SR101 will develop a cool patina over time. If the knives are coated there is very little difference in function or maintenance so go with the design that you like better.
 
SR101/52100 is actually my favorite steel as of right now, waiting on my first Busse so I cant comment on INFI, I hear its great stuff too though, the R6 is my favorite Swamp Rat that I own
 
Along with what others have already posted, INFI is a Busse proprietary steel, you can't get it anywhere else. It's claim to fame is that it doesn't chip, the edge will roll over, making it the king of impact steels for blades. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think SR101 is an impact steel, so it will take a hit extremely well too, but might chip if you hit something hard (rocks, nails, concrete) unintentionally. Both lines of blades carry an unconditional warranty for life, regardless if you're the original purchaser or not.

While INFI is a tougher steel 52100 will has significant better edge retention, the much better rust resistance of INFI is a big bonus though.
 
Pick what you like (and are willing to pay). Both SYKCO, Swamp Rat and Busse makes awesome knives :thumbup:
 
I just buy them all....but I have few more Busse then Rats... ..of the three I have the least amount of SYKCO...
 
They are both bada$$ with an equal attention to detail. You can't go wrong with a Rodent 3. Its a great compact knife.
 
while you're at it pick up a scrapyard scrapivore! the chisel pommel is the best for scratch-offs and lottery tickets! trust me!
