Fokos, Shepherd's Axe, Walking stick

Recently finished this fokos walking stick.

I like that.....a lot, actually.

It looks like the two nuts on top are holding the head to the langets. Will the head just pull off if those nuts are removed?

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I normally fill any gaps in the eye with epoxy before putting the cap on, so the head wouldn't come off without a lot of effort. It would be easy to make it with a removable head,

Nice work. Making a walking axe, or variant thereof, is at the top of my "To Do" lists. The walking spike end is particularly interesting, I like the asymmetrical double wrap.

Thats sweet.The old traditional ones are kinda dainty wouldnt think of walking around with one.Bet you will get all kind of strange looks walking the dog with that.

I'm sure that would be true if I lived in town. Normally when I use mine, we hike in the national forest, and people usually just want to know were I got it.
