folded hawk question?

I'm in the middle of doing my 1st folded hawk and I can't seem to get rid of the seam running from the eye to about 1/3 of the way down the blade. Is it normal to see this? I really don't want to mess this one up by beating on the top edge. I ran my drift thru and the weld held fine..thanks in advance for any imput..

Not abnormal for sure - lots of originals show the weld line - if you're weld is holding good then you should be fine to go........

I haven't done alot of folded ones but if the weld is good you should be able to hammer on the seam. It would be best to grind it even before you do the hammering.

I guess I will hammer the seam to get rid of the offending line . I'm not sure if I'll do another folded hawk however.. I really like the spikes and hammer polls better anyway, and no seams to fret over.. thanks for the imput..
