The blade and bolsters are Devin Thomas high contrast damascus . The blade is 4 1/4" by 1 5/16" and the knife is 9 1/2" over all. The scales are real fat sambar stag. I've had those rat holed for 4 years waitin for something nice to use em on. Bolsters and stag scales are dovetailed. The liners are .090 titanium.They're a little thicker than most folks use so the lock tab is harder to push over to release the blade. I wish I could say it was completely seamless but there are a couple spots that you can see light thru. Next ones gonna be better for sure! I learned alot making this one. Thanks for checking out my folder. If theres something in the design you think I should change, please let me know.
 
L_6 that is one fine knife. i will be getting some of devin's damuscus soon. but i make full tang blades so at $20 a inch it add's up fast:eek: ive got alot in materials right now.
 
L6 -- I think that is a fine-looking knife! It appears extremely solid, and given what you've said about the scales and liners, am sure it truly is. A knife almost too pretty to use, but built for using for a couple lifetimes, it appears to me. Unbelievable it is only your second. Kinda scary how good your knives are going to look when you've got a couple dozen under your belt!
 
Very nice piece, Mike.

Of course, when you try things like dovetailing the bolsters and slabs on just your second folder, expecting perfection, and holding yourself to that standard, might be a little bit premature! My personal thought is that almost any technical skill will come in time, if the love is there - and in your case, that's a given! Keep at it - you've made an exceptional start!
 
Mike, looking really good. Gotta love working damascus too!!! That sounds like a handful of knife for sure!

Wow, thanks so much for all the nice comments!!! This one was tough and seemed like it would never be done. You folks are very kind!

Oops! Stumpy, I actually bought some belt clips but forgot to put one on it. After it was done and I remembered the clips I looked at the hole pattern in them and compared them to the screws on the bolsters and they don't match. I figured it would be really pushing it adding another screw to it. Plus the stag is so thick I'm not sure a clip would work on it.


Phil, how in the world did you make that picture so much crisper and clearer than the one I posted?? I try to clean them up as much as possible so folks can see every detail but when I upload the pictures to aol they get blurry. You have a real talent for cyber pix! Ever think of using them for profit and or trade?? :D

Looks great Michael! I bet it fits the hand perfectly. You did a fine job both with the design and the fitting.

I have another one with the same damascus as this one cept it'll have different handles. What do you folks think about red coral scales with this damascus? I have a couple sets of em but I've never worked them before. Might give it a try. I'm also close to finishing two regular models, one with red g10 and 416 bolsters and the other, a lefty, with black g10 and 416 bolsters. Both have ats-34 blades.
