This knife has a laminated 6-4 titanium/carbon blade with titanium liners and carbon grips. The blade is chisel ground with tungsten carbide reinforced on flat side. Blade length is 3'', the frame length is 4.375'',and is a frame lock. It has titanium pivot and stand offs. Blade hardness is about 36 Rc and the tungsten carbide is about 70 Rc. The overall weight is 2.4oz. Please let me know what you think.

I really like it other than i think it would look better with black pins.

I'm sure it has attributes, but to my eye beauty is definitely not one of them. The torx head screws are not pretty at all and don't seem to set in flush taking big points away from fit and finish. It would not be a knife that would open my wallet at this stage, but you did say it's a concept so things may change.

36 RC for the blade? That's ludicrously soft is it not?

It is very soft, but the carbided edge will take most of the use, and it is fine.

The concept is interesting, but the knife itself looks very rough from an execution standpoint....for instance, I can see scratches in the carbon fiber that were not sanded out, and even for a prototype....not sure that is acceptable.

My idea of a 'concept' is something new and different than anything that's come down the pike.....like the GM Concept Cars from the '50's.

With that said, I can appreciate your work but there have been MANY folders/knives of that type, the most prolific maker being Warren Thomas and his collaboration with Beretta and the folders they made, albeit with ATS34 laminate instead of carborized ti.

Thanks for posting and I'm looking forward to seeing more as you refine them.... :)

Thanks for all the comments this being my first folder I didn't know what to expect. I'll defently work on my fit and finish on the knives. I see your point on using the word "concept" should have put new concept for schwartztactical or for me sorry for the confusion.

Guessing the pins are for decoration...
My suggestions:
Start with the end in mind
Why are there two different types of screw heads?
Countersink the pivot flush with the scales
Pins should have the same diameter as the blade thickness or smaller gets better proportions
Even though the screws are highlighted by the cutouts it would look cleaner countersunk into the scales
Making an original design is very difficult, most times it is the hardest part of any concept blade
There is a LOT of tedious work, thought, planning that goes into any concept project
If you do a detailed, concise concept drawing and post it asking for comments it will save many hours at the bench
That being said it is Far Easier to comment than do
Having only made a few folders myself they are challenging at the least... being original that will be the hardest part
Stay with it you are on the right path and always turn any Naysayers comments into a challenge to better your work

One thing I would suggest is bevelling the chisel grind from the other side. That bevel would be backwards for most knife users who are right handed.
