I have had no luck searching for such a site. You may have to try the Library. Look for Making Folding Knives by Harold Hoffman, and How To Make Folding Knives by Ron Lake, Frank Centofante and Wayne Clay.

Try reading The Tactical Folding Knife by Bob Terzuola. A couple liner lock designs and overall a good read. The best thing is to look around the net for examples of how the various locks work.

Here's a start:
Axis lock: www.benchmade.com
Arc lock: www.sogknives.com
Rolling lock: www.rekat.com

The new Knives Illustrated has a section on various locking devices such as the axis, arc, rolling and the new compression lock.

Sometimes its just best to disassemble a folding knife and see the inter workings.

What David said. If you are interested in rocker/spine locks, see also "How to Make Folding Knives" by Lake/Centofante/Clay.

General tome on folding knives, one that avoids extremes and, to me, smacks with a lot of common sense, is "The Working Folding Knife" by Steven Dick.

You will be a much better educated customer, and will make smarter buys and fewer purchasing "mistakes" after you read these (should you choose to buy more than a couple knives).

If your are really into the technical stuff the place to visit is what used to be the IBM Intellectual Property Network, now Delphion Intellectual Property Network at www.delphion.com.

It says in the Description:
"IBM Intellectual Property Network is a free Internet database provided by IBM Corporation. It contains bibliographic information and full images of US patents (1974-), European patents (1980-), and patent applications (1998-) published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The database can be searched by patent number or by words in the inventor, title, abstract, assignee, agent, and claims fields."

There is lots about folding knife patents from A.G.Russell, Spyderco, Cold Steel and all the rest. Very, very interesting, with lots of drawings.
