Folder enhancement project (no pics)

I have been wanting to do a knife project for quite a while, and I actually made a knife the other day but it cracked during the heat treat. So, I thought I'd try my hand at swapping scales on a folder. The only thing I had that was suitable was my REKAT Pioneer, which could always use a facelift, so I removed the G-10 scales and replaced them with thicker, more contoured Purple Heart ones. Looks pretty darn cool and the project was really fun. The hardest part was getting the channels for the lock mechanism machined into the wood, which I did by using my drill press with a stop adjusted to the proper depth and a Dremel bit that is like a flat drill bit. Not perfect, but it did the job adequately. Just thought I'd share. Too bad I have no scanner or digital camera...
