I got one of Mikes folders in the mail today. It is actually for my son...I might even give it to him if I can turn loose from it
Each of us (Wife, daughter, myself) has a Cooper knife. Now I can add my son to that list. It was going to be a wharncliffe Mighty Mite, but we decided that we have plenty of Mikes fixed blades (and he does a great FB) and thought maybe my son would like to be the first to have one of his folders. I have examined this new folder very closely and can honestly say that he does his folders every bit as good as he does his fixed blades.
It has a traditional appearence while having a liner lock that is thick and locks up like a bank vault. This knife will not close unless you want it to.
The handle spacer is filed and looks pretty darn cool. The blade is a wharncliffe and as usual with Mikes knives, has a hair popping edge.
The ball detent is very well done. It holds the blade firmly closed (it aint gonna open in your pocket). Its very crisp, but still releases the blade easily. Movement of the blade during opening and closing is very smooth.
Of course Mikes knives are damn good stuff....but as usual dealing with him is also a real pleasure.
My son is gonna enjoy this knife...if I remember to give it to him
