Folder idea... anyone?

This has likely been done, but is there a good folder out there that has the requisite single blade, but also has just a little pry-er thing, or slot screwdriver bit on it?

I've pulled the SAK bottle opener tool off an old model and slung it on my keychain, as next to my EDC, it's something I could benefit from having with me all the time.

But, if it was on a folder, it'd provide the additional leverage needed for prying that staple or nail head... something I don't want to lose the tip of my knife to. I know, someone's gonna say "just carry your SAK, dumbass", but then I'd have to carry a third knife, you know? And that'd be just one more thing in my pocket. So, a bi-folder, with the pry thing as the second foldy option, or perhaps one that's just got a small pry-er at the butt end, always exposed, kinda like where the glass-breaker tips are on some knives. Or, perhaps integrated into the clip somehow. If you could pull on the clip screw/pivot area to allow pivoting the clip around like a second blade, you could use the flat end of a strong-as-hell clip as the pry-er.

Free idea to someone. If you made these, they'd sell like hotcakes, I'm sure of it.

If there's one out there, could someone point me to it? Thanks for reading.

Not a bad idea...

Benchmade has a model with a locking main blade, with a smaller secondary blade for (presumably) smaller tasks. I forget the model number, and in the time it took me to write this sentence, I could have looked it up... but I didn't. Anyway, you could replace that with a thicker, blunted piece of tool steel to pry with. You'd just have to make sure that the pivot area is strong enough to take the lateral stress exerted from prying - that would be the biggest obstacle.

I have been to Mr. Atwood's website to buy a new prybaby and he doesn't seem to have anything in stock anymore.

Does he still make them?

Oh yeah he still makes em. The minute he puts them on his website people buy up everything & sell them on the secondary market. He is possibly the most popular maker I have seen as of late.
If you do want to pick up his pieces please visit www.edcforums.com a few are listed on the secondary market.

take care
