so, what do you use to grease the hinge on your folders?

I'm talking day to day and after you took it apart for a good cleaning...

I use dw40 day to day if the knife starts to screech, and white grease (the one they make for fishing reels) after I'm done cleaning...

WD40 is too thin for that. You should use something thicker, maybe 3 in 1.

I would avoid the use of WD-40, its not a gease but a water displacer (WD stands for water displacer). It actually degreases (just read thier label).

What I use now is rem oil. Love the stuff and works well.

I have used nathans and rem oil. I just got some dupont teflon multi-use lube to try.

Only stuff on mine is what little is left of the CLP or WD40 used to scrub it once in a great while.

Grease or or lubricant isn't really necessary unless you are trying to extend the life of a higher end knife or love to flick all day, every day.

My first thought when I saw this title was, "Why is he asking me about a folder knife?" :p

Corrosion inhibiting gun oil is always great in anything that won't touch food. Even in stainless steel, moisture can linger in there and cause a bit of rust.

i use konola does not attract any gunk or i use wd40 when i have some gun oil but i usally use it all on my guns i really just need to buy 2 things when i get it but if you dont want to go out and get grease just use konola or wd40 if you have some

Benchmade's Blue Lube, or I just picked up a bottle of Reel butter (used for fishing reels), which works well.

Any good oil will do. Grease or really thick oil will slow-down the pivot action, though.

Try some 10 weight Nano-Oil.
On lubricating properties it beats anything i've tried so far, from WD40, Ballistol, any generic Teflon based oil, Tri-Flow, to BlueLube.
It also keeps on working long after other oils need a second or a third application.

I have been using 3-1 oil in my sebenza recently, works a treat, use what ya got.
