Folder length?

Very close to purchasing my 1st tactical folder....I am a member of the U.S Armed Forces. What legal length is best for me with me moving frequently throughout the U.S.? I've heard 3 inches is the max...should I go any longer than that? Should I even consider the Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert Folder at 3 7/8"? Thanks to all & Drive On!

I will give you some examples of Knife laws. NYC four inch legal limit. Chicago has a 2.5 inch legal limit. New Jersey has a Five inch limit. NY state has a six inch limit. Atlanta, Georgia has a three inch limit. The laws are so out of whack and inconsistent I recommend getting something that you will be able to carry alot in your area.
