How many people have been routinely using the same folder for 20+ years?

Is it still in good condition? Still gets the job done? Any good stories to go along with it?

Pictures would be great:D

i been using a schrade 340T for about 7 yrs at work. ( electrician ). its still tight, but the blades are getting a little thin from sharpening. it'll never last 20 yrs. normal use??? yep, it would last 20 yrs. :D

When my grandfather died in 91 he left my dad his yellow case trapper. It was about 15 years old at that time. My dad carried it right up until the day I had to put him and mom in an Alzheimer's facility last October. For all the things dad forgets, he has never forgotten that knife.

They said at the facility that he could not have an edged weapon. So, I put it on the grinder and dulled the tips and took the edges off of the blades. He was mighty happy to get it last week and never noticed the modifications.

That knife has made two men very happy over the last 34 years.

Here it is before it had to be modified.

I have a 1972 Buck Muskrat that is still in my daily rotation and is in great shape even though the blades a are a bit shorter and narrower than when new.

Great story. You should send that in to Case.

I have a Buck 110 from the early 70s that my grandfather gave me when I was seven (I think). That would have been 1988. I don't carry it everyday anymore (too heavy) but it's tight and no play.

For the past 6 years I've been EDC'ing a Victorinox Soldier. The Alox has some dings, but I don't see any reason (aside from losing it) that I won't be carrying it in 20 years. I love that knife.

I edc'd a Huntsman SAK for about 20 years and used it hard. It is still perfectly functional, although it gets less pocket time now.

Very touching story, Liveitloud.

Great story, and I'm sorry to hear about your parents. Kudos to you for caring enough to make the effort to get that knife back into your dad's life.

As Kaizen1 said, you should send that story in to Case. They'd probably love to hear it.

thx - cpr
