Folder Makers: Who can make a blade to fit the Emerson mini Commander

I have to finish paying off Gary Bradburn for the second wonderful custom tanto he is making for me. Then, I want to do something with a folder.

I assume that this can be done. I want to find someone that can take my Emerson mini Commander and make a damascus/damasteel blade that is the same basic design as the mini Commander and place it in the mini Commander frame using the stock pivot, liners, and lock.

Can this be done?

It would have to be waveless since the wave is patented. You would be asking a custom maker to put himself in troubles way to do that modification. For that effort, why don't you just have a custom maker make a knife from scratch to your specifications?

I wondered about all of the patents that were involved with Emerson Knife Company. I do not want to cross the line in this area. The "wave" feature is something that I can do without. I never use it.
It would be great to have a custom maker design a folder to my specs, but it is also costly. My thoughts were that someone could make a similar style blade that would fit the stock pivot, handles, liner, etc. This way I would have any everyday carry in damascus/damasteel that I can actually afford.

Go to the Emerson site, go to customs, pick a Commander and get the damascus option. It will have the way and no patent infringment.
