I think it's a fantastic feature that some companies provide the option to change the position of the pocket clip. Right side; Tip up for me.

However this option leaves all those unused empty little screw holes on your scales...does this bother anybody? It doesn't bother me but I could imagine that to some it gives them a feeling of an unfinished surface.

What about you, what do you think, does it matter to you, do you like this feature?

That's why a lot of manufacturers don't bother with tapping holes for left hand carry, especially for high end knives, to leave the "presentation side" intact. Some don't even give you an alternative and are one position only (eg: CRKT Ripple).

Drilling and tapping fewer holes lowers production costs. Apparently us lefties are just not worth the little extra cost for a lot of knives.

The aesthetics of it are questionable. For some knives like a Sebenza, it is obvious, but for other knives like a Strider (for example) they start out less than great looming so the little holes aren't hurting anything.

If the holes really bother you, look at getting spare screws to fill in the holes. Or just put a bunch of clips on... Versatility!

I rather have all my knives have quad carry options than just one set of holes, or at least allow both tip up and tip down on right hand side. I prefer tip down myself, up till recently that's all I had were tip down knives my Ka-bar dozier was the first tip up knife I owned and it still feels awkward and slow to draw it out of my pocket and have my hand lined up to deploy it compared to a tip down knife which is significantly faster for me.

The extra holes never bothered me at all, I just see it as more options! I have a mix of right and left handed knives and it is nice to be able to move the clip around.
