Folder project update, advice needed, need 1/8" shoulder stop pins.....

Here is an update on my current folder project, which was going pretty well until this morning when I accidentally started to drill for my 1/8" stop pin on the wrong side of the ti slab!! I ended up drilling straight through after I realized there was no going back, so now instead of having a nested 1/8" stop pin I'm going to need a shouldered stop pin with 1/8" ends and something a little thicker in the middle. The center piece needs to be right around .185" to accommodate my blade and washers. I've found a couple, but nothing with 1/8" tips.

Does anybody know where I can get something to make this work? This project has come a long way to start over now.

Thanks guys,

I had similar problems one time. I needed a 1/4" stop pin with 3/16" shoulders, though. I bought some hardened 416 SS dowel pins from McMaster IIRC, and lathe turned the ends down to 3/16". I had to use a collet to grip the small part well.

This is a great excuse to buy a lathe...

Oh, one other idea: you could switch to the thumbstud-as-stop pin idea that some framelocks use, if your blade config will allow.

You know what? That just might do it.

Thanks for the link! I looked on USA, but I must have missed that one. I think I saw it but saw that it was threaded, which I don't need and passed it over. After further inspection it could work. I might have to use thinner washers and standoffs to get a snug fit, but it's worth looking into.

Appreciate it!
