This thread would probably be more appropriate over in the Blade Discussion Forum. Maybe a helpful Mod would move it?

For what it's worth, anyway, I like the Dozier Thorn much better than the other possibilities you list. I'm thinking of getting one of those myself.

I agree with Nathan :D (on both counts).

Ditto--of those choices the Thorn stands out as my top pick. It's really light folder (if I remember correctly) and it's pretty smooth opening.

I've got the Thorn. It is a sharp and elegant little knife -- very sharp ...

What is it you're looking for, though? The others on your list are all more combat-oriented. The Thorn is more appropriate for office or casual use.

just looking for something sturdy that would fit in a pocket. I'd take the Ka-Bar but I do a lot of cutting that requres a combo edge, and I'm worried about the stainlessness of the D2. This won't be something I take to the office, just something that will stand up to "caculated stress" (i.e. abuse :D )

The Thorn is more of a gentleman's knife than a utility folder. Since you seem like the Applegate-Fairbairn style, check out the Gerber Mini-Covert. It's the same great knife, combo edge, and compact enough to disappear in a pocket. Nice price, too.
