Hello,
I am doing my first folder and hit a wall today when I found my 2-56 screws are not long enouhg to make it through the right liner, spine and into the threads on the other side. Where can I get longer 2-56's than what texasknife.com sells? Can someone send me a few in an envelope? I need 3-5 of them.

Otherwise, what it the normal protocol for attaching these? I do not want to use standoffs.

Now let's see...I'm not sure what you are doing but, so I don't know what you need. Are you making a liner lock and need flat heads or thick frame lock and need button heads? or sockets? .750" long enough?
Let me know...

I am doing a liner lock. It can be flat or button head, i was going to drill recesses into the backs of the scales to fit the cap screws i had anyways.

My screws are only 1/4" and are not quite long enough, so anything over 3/8" would probably do it.....75 would be perfect.

I ran a search on Froogle for "2-56 screws" and saw a 3/4" and several 1/2" ones there. Or stop by your local hardware store and ask what they've got/what they can get you. It would likely be a lot cheaper, since you wouldn't have to pay shipping for just a few bucks worth of screws! :)

Ill check some hardware stores....maybe home depot has them in their specialty screws..thanks for the advice all!
