Hi everybody,
just wanted to show off my prettiest carry knife to date. This is a Blackjack folding Mamba (BTW, bought from a Bladeforums member at great price). Not really a collectible anymore, as it was used. I refinished and resharpened it a little, also removed sharp edges from thumb studs - so it's better then new in my opinion. Looks nice with nickel silver and cocobolo-like(?) wood, and at the same time one handed and as strong as most tacticals (very solid lockup!).

I made the belt sheath to go with it myself (first folder sheath I ever made!). The overall design (at least looks) is obviously influenced by Bladeforum's Gary Graley - my hat is off to this artist. I can only dream to achieve the kind of quality evident in his work...
However, I believe that the way I handled the sheath attachment to the belt is unique (though probably not the best). I wanted to be able to quickly and easily transfer the sheath from the belt to the front pocket - and no probability of loosing it together with the knife (the knfe itself cannot fall out, it requires a good tug to take it out).
What I came up with is a belt loop on the sheath closing with a simple snap fastener. There is a short "lanyard" threaded through the sheath for complete security. I just loop it through the nearest belt loop on my pants, and it simply lies along my belt with the sheath at my side on the belt. It takes just one second to unsnap the sheath from the belt and put it in the front pocket - and then the "lanyard" is just short enough that the sheath is actually suspended in the middle of the pocket, easy to access. As an additional benefit it allows me to draw the knife one handed from the pocket - it comes out with the sheath, then the short lanyard stops the sheath and it is left dangling.
What do you think of this arrangement? I would like to get any positive or negative comments.
Alex.
