Hello all. Am going to attempt my first folder using an ATS34 blade. Can I use this same material for the spring, or do I need to use something else. Not experienced in this area, so need advice. Have made quite a few fixed blades and want to try my hand at folders and lockbacks. Also, any info on proper heat treating would be helpful as I am a rookie at this.

as long as you give it a spring temper you should be fine.
